CHANGE IN URS LOG-IN PROCEDURE!

The procedure used to log into the Unified Reporting System (URS) has been changed. There is no longer a unique user name and password for logging into the URS. Instead, the new log in page asks for your standard OSU Internet user name (lastname.#) and OSU Internet (aka - kerberos) password. Please use this set of credentials for all future access to the URS.

Try it now:     http://urs.oardc.ohio-state.edu/

This change was made to simplify the log-in process, eliminate one of the many user names and passwords that people must remember, and to eliminate the local storage of user names and passwords in the URS database.

If you should have a problem logging in, you may need to activate your OSU internet account.  Here’s how.

Go to the Office of Information Technology's "OSU Account Management" web page:

https://acctmgt.service.ohio-state.edu/Password.html

Select "Activate account" link on top menu. Complete the form on this page. You will need to know your Social Security Number, and Either your birth date (Month and Day), Or your OSU ID (8-digits) Or your BuckID (10 digits). Then enter a password that you create (your password needs to be at least eight characters long, containing letters, numbers or punctuation characters), you will need to enter it twice to verify the password. Press the “Activate Account” button, your OSU Internet Account is now activated!

Note the “Deliver My Email to” Box – This is used to change where your email is delivered. Once you activate your OSU Internet Account, you also activate an “osu.edu” email account for yourself (example: jones.250@osu.edu). You now have the option to use your OSU email account or have that email forwarded to another email address (most folks in Extension have their “osu.edu” account forwarded to their CFAES email account). For example, if you activate jones.250@osu.edu, you would type your CFAES email account into the box, jones.250@cfaes.osu.edu, from this point forward if anyone sends email to jones.250@osu.edu that email will be routed to the jones.250@cfaes.osu.edu account automatically. This way you can advertise your jones.250@osu.edu email address to your clientele while using your CFAES email account. Your email will keep being sent to your existing account, and you can check it just as you currently do.

If this procedure doesn’t work, you should contact the OSU Office of Information Technology at (614) 688-HELP (4357) for password help now and in the future.

Please remember that if you need any other assistance with URS, please contact Chip Styer (Styer.21@osu.edu), Debby Lewis (Lewis.205@osu.edu), or Tom Archer (Archer.3@osu.edu).
